GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 642372
Evolution plugin - No mail index
Last modified: 2011-10-03 13:12:12 UTC
I use Ubuntu 10.10, Evolution 2.30.3 and Meta Tracker 0.8.17. In the dialog "Edition - Plugins" of Evolution, tracker is checked. But no mail is indexed, either the senders, the object or the body of the message. After waiting tracker-store did his job (process idle), when I use tracker user interface, when I type a word used in a mail, no mail is proposed. When I launch tracker-status -a, I get : 3 extracteurs sont installés: org.freedesktop.Tracker1.Miner.Files org.freedesktop.Tracker1.Miner.Applications org.freedesktop.Tracker1.Miner.Emails When I launch tracker-status while Evolution is NOT running, I get : Dépôt: ✓ Journal replay - Inactif Extracteurs: ✓ File System - Crawling recursively directory '/usr/local/man' ✓ Applications - Inactif ✗ Emails - Ce greffon n'est pas lancé ou est désactivé When I launch tracker-status while Evolution is running, I get : Dépôt: ✓ Journal replay - Inactif Extracteurs: ✓ File System - Crawling recursively directory '/usr/local/man' ✓ Applications - Inactif ✓ Emails - Initialisation It seems that Emails miner stays always in Initialization mode. When I launch tracker-control --status, Emails miner is never quoted, could Evolution be launched or not.
Is this bug still valid?
Still valid in 0.8.17 (Debian stable) and as stated in the Debian bug report (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=440081) as well in 0.10.12-1.
Did you try in 0.8.18?
No.
Michael Biebl (Debian maintainer tracker) told me, there was no Evolution-related patch till 0.8.18.
Closing as INCOMPLETE. Please reopen if you have tested with a more recent version. Thanks in advance.
