GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 642313
Empathy ignoring theme font choices
Last modified: 2018-05-22 14:39:08 UTC
Hello. I have checked this with the Candybars http://adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=1385 and GaiaLow http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=4499 themes. Candybars uses the Lucida Grande font, and GaiaLow uses some Helvetica fonts. The fonts were displayed as a normal serif font in Empathy, so I change the CSS files of those fonts so that the font used by those themes is "sans-serif"- which I'm sure my OS includes. However, they still don't appear in the conversation windows. As I checked more than one theme, I believe that this is a bug in Empathy. I'm using Empathy 2.32.2, included with Fedora 14. I tried this when Empathy first appeared in Fedora by default and everything was fine.
Now I have managed to change the "header" font, but the main message font is still buggy. Look at the screenshot to see how the font on the blue background is sans-serif, but the rest is not (it should be).

Created attachment 200038 [details] sans-serif font instead of theme font Here's an additional example. Since Times is my default sans-serif font, it can make the text in Adium themes difficult to read.
