Description Bill Edwards 2001-11-10 13:30:20 UTC
Package: panel
Version: 1.4.0.4
Severity:

>Synopsis: panel crashes on open
>Class: sw-bug
System: redhat 7.2 with updates, kernel 2.4.9-7 -- AMD Duron 750, Via KT133

>Description:
When I log in for the first time after rebooting panel invariably crashes on loading. If I kill X at this point (Ctrl-Alt-Bksp), and relogin it never crashes.

>How-To-Repeat:
Doubt that you can replicate this, but just curious if anyone else has reported it. Maybe hardware or Redhat related. It happened (extremely intermittently) with the Redhat Roswell Beta. This is a fresh install of 7.2 as released by redhat with the updates as of Nov 5th or so. I have RH 7.1 with Ximian (completely updated with Red Carpet as of yesterday running in a separate partition. No problem there at all.
