Description Travis Reitter 2011-02-13 21:17:15 UTC
(This should essentially be a duplicate of bug #642251, but I'm filing it so we can track the symptoms of that bug and that we can confirm this bug goes away in Empathy when that bug gets fixed.)

Sometimes, Empathy can show two linked contacts as if they were unlinked. Re-linking them fixes the problem (at least temporarily).

This is likely related or entirely due to bug #642251, which ends up storing contacts links which partly overlap (when only the entry with the superset of attributes should be saved).

Rob has pointed out that he hits this but more often when contacts are added later in a run of Empathy. And these unlinked contacts seem to be fully-unlinked (ie, 1:1 Persona:Individual).

So I won't completely rule out this being an Empathy bug, but it seems unlikely that Empathy would somehow trigger an unlink.

It's possible (though I think also unlikely) that this is somehow due a mix-up in the way we're shadowing FolksIndividuals with EmpathyContacts (coming from their own instance of the contact lists).

We should really fix bug #625969 before this - at best, it makes this more complicated to debug. And, at worst, it could be partially responsible for this.
