GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 641616
"First" click on Activities should open the "Applications view"
Last modified: 2011-05-03 08:52:27 UTC
In Gnome-Shell their are (currently) two different views: Windows and Applications. The current behaviour, when clicking on Activities for the first time, is to always start to show the Windows-view. This is not always meaningful, since when clicking on Activities for the first time, than in most of the cases their are no Windows(with applications) running. Expected behaviour: - If there are no Applications(Windows) running in the Gnome-shell, then clicking on Activities should directly lead to the "Applications-view". - In all other cases (at least on Application(Window) running) then clicking on Activities should lead to the "Windows-view".
I completely agree with that, What's more when there's no window opened, Gnome-Shell should automatically enter Overview/Application-View so the user don't need to click on "Activities" and can launch an application immediately.
