Description Olav Vitters 2011-02-03 19:36:26 UTC
We should change that number to at least 500 or higher. But likely >1000.

Also, we should check if any other group has such a low number.

Note: This requires chmod'ing ever existing file owned by gnomecvs and making sure it is gnomecvs and not e.g. 'avahi' (or whatever else sometimes has group id 70).

Perhaps at the same time rename the group to gnomevcs. Though that'll really break stuff (Mango, create-auth, etc) :P

Made the various scripts in sysadmin-bin support a 'gnomevcs' group (treated similarly to the 'gnomecvs' group).

Todo:
 - Ensure Puppet configuration works for 'gnomecvs' and 'gnomevcs'
 - Fix any gitadmin-bin scripts to support 'gnomevcs'
 - Give all users access to 'gnomevcs'
 - Fix Mango to only change 'gnomevcs' group
 - Change permissions on git.gnome.org /git directory (and below)
 - Update gitadmin-bin scripts to sudo/chown/chgrp using 'gnomevcs'

Various items have to be handled at the same time or shortly after eachother.

The GNOME Infrastructure Team is currently migrating its bug / issue tracker away from Bugzilla to Request Tracker and therefore all the currently open bugs have been closed and marked as OBSOLETE.

The following move will also act as a cleanup for very old and ancient tickets that were still living on Bugzilla. If your issue still hasn't been fixed as of today please report it again on the relevant RT queue.

More details about the available queues you can report the bug against can be found at https://wiki.gnome.org/Sysadmin/RequestTracker.

Thanks for your patience,

the GNOME Infrastructure Team
