It will be difficult to know how to fix this without knowing what the actual error message is. If the error is something along the lines of "This station is only available to subscribers", then this is a duplicate of the WONTFIX Bug 601612. With Last.fm's current API, radio stations are no longer available to non-paying Last.fm users.

Anyway, I'll also ask for more information downstream.

people affected by this issue said:

I'm from Germany where you can still listen to last.fm channels for free (see FAQ). But when I tune in, there is a message in Banshee, that tells me, I have to pay to listen.

FAQ:
What if I live in the US, UK or Germany?
If you live in one of these three countries, you can listen to Last.fm Radio via the website, or the client, for free.

Thanks for following up, Victor. In that case, this is a duplicate of Bug 601612. Bug 601612 Comment 1 lists some of the reasons that the Banshee project does not intend to work around this issue.
