Description nraog 2001-11-09 01:47:50 UTC
Package: gnome-utils
Severity: critical
Version: 1.4.0.4
Synopsis: Problem when we change the Terminal settings
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-utils
Bugzilla-Component: gfontsel

Description:
Here's the procedure......

Open the terminal. Select settings tool bar & select the font
"nil". The terminal
window will become too tiny. Now close the terminal & try to open using
shortcut
on the panel. Now it will generate this bug. We can't even select
settings to modify.

Another problem, I've observed, is that the procedure of selecting
required fonts
from settings is not working properly. When I change the default font to
various others,
I could see more gap between the cursor & the login prompt and the
window size is
becoming maximum horizontally.

I can reproduce this with the very latest release. Submitted a report
with a backtrace from this setup. Hope we can get it fixed soon.

You can at least get your terminal back by doing 'rm ~/.gnome/Terminal'
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2003-02-09 02:38:49 UTC
Because of the release of GNOME 2.0 and 2.2, and the lack of interest in
maintainership of GNOME 1.4, the gnome-core product is being closed. If y0u feel
your bug is still of relevance to GNOME 2, please reopen it and refile it
against a more appropriate component. Thanks...

Argh. Apologies for the double spam. Actually closing this time.
