Well, which options come to your mind?
Same for "Click to call %s"...

(In reply to comment #1)
> msgid "Enter password for %s (user %s)"

Person organizing the meeting.
How to add translator comments to XML?

(In reply to comment #4)

Impossible as these are UI files.
Comment 8 André Klapper 2011-02-01 16:49:00 UTC
NEEDINFO as per last comment.
Comment 9 Akhil Laddha 2011-03-17 03:56:12 UTC
Pavol, ping, any update from your side ?
Comment 10 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-17 13:28:48 UTC
"Well, which options come to your mind?
Same for "Click to call %s"..."

so %s is username, or email address?

"Location of the meeting.
How do the terms differ in your language?"
Location of the meeting is "miesto"
location of file is "umiestnenie"

why is plural forms impossible?

Hmm, good question. I looked at the code and I have no idea what "camel_address_format (CAMEL_ADDRESS (address))" returns...

> "Location of the meeting.
> How do the terms differ in your language?"
> Location of the meeting is "miesto"
> location of file is "umiestnenie"

I see. It's the place where the meeting takes place. It did not come to my mind to consider a meeting a file though. :)

>
> why is plural forms impossible?

They are UI files, like a settings dialog. How should this work...?
Comment 12 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 12:03:07 UTC
where is this string used?

#: ../calendar/gui/dialogs/comp-editor.c:1156
msgid "Pu_blic"
Comment 13 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 12:14:23 UTC
also please add plural forms for this

#: ../calendar/gui/dialogs/recurrence-page.c:1419
msgid "occurrences"
Comment 14 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 12:15:09 UTC
and for this as well

#: ../calendar/gui/dialogs/recurrence-page.ui.h:1
msgid "Every"
Comment 15 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 12:19:58 UTC
please split this strings, as we can have different translations in each case
also please add context for strings

#: ../calendar/gui/e-cal-list-view.etspec.h:2
#: ../calendar/gui/e-calendar-table.etspec.h:7
#: ../calendar/gui/e-memo-table.etspec.h:3
#: ../plugins/save-calendar/csv-format.c:368
msgid "Created"
Comment 16 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 12:22:00 UTC

New > Appointment > Options > Recurrence.
Could be changed to "occurrence(s)" after branching, but no idea if it is technically possible (and feasible) to support plural forms here.

So what is the plural form of "Every", please?

Can you explain how the string differs in each case?
If that's really needed, why isn't it also needed for "Last modified"?
Comment 21 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 13:59:37 UTC
(In reply to comment #19)

yes, bacuase for example

Every 2 days (Kazde 2 den)
Every 1 day (Kazdy 1 den)

(In reply to comment #20)
yes, I forgot last modified, it is bad idea to haven't splited strings

translation depends on following word so:
"Created car" => "Vytvorene auto"
"Created woman" => "Vytvorena zena"

Impossible to fix technically.

Wrong assumption - There are NO strings splitted here, why do you think so?
Comment 23 Pavol Klačanský 2011-03-18 15:56:35 UTC
holy crap

"Wrong assumption - There are NO strings splitted here, why do you think so?"

there is string used, it is 4 times, so we could have 4 different translation, but we can have only one, because, it is not splitted to 4 msgstr
#: ../calendar/gui/e-cal-list-view.etspec.h:2
#: ../calendar/gui/e-calendar-table.etspec.h:7
#: ../calendar/gui/e-memo-table.etspec.h:3

Comment 24 André Klapper 2011-03-18 16:20:39 UTC
Ah, we misunderstood and I got you wrong. No need for your strong wording though.
To me split strings mean this:
http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Never%20split%20sentences

Please use the word "translation context" instead of talking about "splitting":

is this mean, that table will be shown and range will be selected it this table?
Comment 32 Tobias Mueller 2011-08-02 00:08:38 UTC
That's how I read it, yes. I haven't checked Evolution's usage of the string though.
Comment 33 André Klapper 2012-06-16 11:34:29 UTC
So I've lost track what is still left to do. Adding it in one comment would be helpful. Please clarify.
Comment 34 André Klapper 2012-06-27 10:18:58 UTC
=> NEEDINFO as this is unfixable due to the amount of comments and different issues and keeping track of those.
See comment 33.

Three occurences with different meanings:
%s is twice an email address, and once a contact's name.
Comment 35 Tobias Mueller 2012-10-24 10:03:15 UTC
Pavol, do you any interest in unfolding this bug report and chasing up, what's left to do? Otherwise I guess we will close it.
Comment 36 Pavol Klačanský 2012-10-24 14:09:42 UTC
no really, I stopped translating this module a long ago
