Description Louis W. Adams, Jr. 2011-01-30 16:37:16 UTC
Anytime I check the "Search recursively" box in Edit/Search, GNOME Commander disappears from the screen when there are no subdirectories.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it.
Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

I followed instructions provided by your link, but can't get a stack trace. I installed gnome-dbg, but bug-buddy did not capture the crash. I tried getting a core dump, but the stack was empty. Sorry, but you'll have to advise me how to proceed.

By the way, while trying to reproduce the error, GNOME Commander behaved differently this time. The first time I encountered the error, it was the recursive search that caused the problem. This time that didn't cause a crash. Instead I found that deleting the trailing / on the search path caused the error. So I'm no longer sure what triggers the crash. And I don't know whether I'll be able to cause GNOME Commander to crash the next time I try. We'll see.
