when I boot up and log in the gnome desktop does not bring up the taskbar. After getting the initial error message the first time it happens (i've only just installed it (twice now)) the taskbar does'nt show, if i log in/out, it still does'nt show and if i log in as root, i lose that one as well. Re-install, same problem, both times after the third or fourth time of starting up.

Re-install, log in. (3rd or 4th time)

Please try the latest (1.4.x) version of gnome-core and gnome-libs
from http://download.gnome.org/ Contact me if you need RPMS.
