Description George 2011-01-26 09:56:21 UTC
First - I can't say in which version, because this 'bug' or to be precise lack of function exists on every version on Gnome-shell.
Second - I want to appologise if I have paced this bug in the wrong category,I was never good of reporting bugs.
Anyway, the main concept of Gnome-shell is to hide pretty much everything, which is OK except for one thing-One can't see what he has minimized unless he goes to the Activity menu with pressing Alt+F1 or Super Key on go to the upper left corner, which is a waste of time.
This forces people installing stuff like docky, awn, cairo etc.. to see their minimzed stuff, which is a waste of PC resources, plus this docks work way beter with Compiz than with Mutter.
There is plenty of empty space on Gnome-nale (the new gnome-panel) so couldn't you just inclucde a simple vala or python etc.. applet to show the minimized stuff.
