There is an IETF draft standard, currently draft-daboo-srv-caldav-10, for using SRV records, TXT records, and well-known URIs to find CalDAV and CardDAV services. Support would make it more convenient to changes an URL for one of these services.

Thanks for a bug report. This is used in 3.28 when creating new accounts in Edit->Accounts->Add->Collection Account.
