Description Samuel Bennett 2011-01-22 18:53:36 UTC
If I have no shuffle option enabled and I choose a song in the middle of the playlist, the next song playing will be the first song in the playlist, rather than the next song as expected.

Thanks for the bug report. I'm not seeing this issue, so I have a few questions for you:

Does this happen for all playlists or one in particular? Smart playlists or regular playlists? Does it also happen for the main Music Library source, or playlists only?

If it only happens with the 'Unheard' playlist (or any other smart playlist based on a specific play count) and you have Gapless Playback enabled, the problem might go away if you disable that in Edit > Preferences.

Also, if you would have a chance to test with a release from the 1.9.x series, that might also be helpful.

This was happening with the 'Unheard' playlist and unchecking Gapless Playback did fix it.

And then I rechecked that option and it works as expected now.

Glad that took care of it. I think the root of the issue is that gapless (incorrectly) increases the playcount as soon as a song starts playing. This means that a song is no longer considered "unheard" as soon as you start listening to it, so it is removed from the playlist, causing playback to start from the beginning.

Anyway, I'm marking this as a duplicate of Bug 621222, because that seems like the core of the issue. Thanks again for the report, and don't hesitate to report any other bugs that you find.
