sample PDF

Please open the attached PDF file, and see if the bullet points at the top of page 1 are rendered as round bullets.

On my system, evince renders them incorrectly as infinity symbols. I'll attach a screenshot of that.

xpdf shows them correctly. I'll attach a screenshot of that too.

evince-2.32.0-3.fc14.x86_64
poppler-0.14.5-1.fc14.x86_64
xpdf-3.02-16.fc14.x86_64

I can't reproduce in Fedora 14. Could you please run evince from command line and attach any output you get?
Comment 4 Michael Chudobiak 2011-01-21 14:39:59 UTC
Really? How odd. This is what I see on the command line:

[mjc@xena catalog]$ evince page_new_cat11_av-109_rev5.pdf

** (evince:6413): CRITICAL **: Unable to contact dconf service

Are you running with the stock F14 poppler (poppler-0.14.5-1.fc14.x86_64)?

Downstream bug may be found at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/855754

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04

2) apt-cache policy evince
evince:
  Installed: 2.32.0-0ubuntu12.3

  Version table:
 *** 2.32.0-0ubuntu12.3 0

apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer
libreoffice-writer:
  Installed: 1:3.3.3-1ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1:3.3.3-1ubuntu2

     1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4 0

3) What is expected to happen in Evince via the Terminal:

unoconv --listener &

then:

cd ~/Desktop && wget -c https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/855754/+attachment/2436904/+files/bullet-test.doc -O inf.doc && unoconv -f pdf inf.doc && evince inf.pdf

The bullets do not display as infinity signs.

4) What happens instead is the bullets are displayed as infinity signs.
Comment 7 Michael Chudobiak 2011-09-21 20:01:27 UTC
The sample doc in comment 1 now works fine on Fedora 15, with:

evince-3.0.2-1.fc15.x86_64
poppler-0.16.7-1.fc15.x86_64

so I'm closing this as fixed.

Sorry, I meant the sample doc in the original report, not comment 1.
