when comparing these 3 files, meld completely freezes, the status bar displays
Computing differences but progress bar doesn't move and no other interactions are possible, whole window becomes unresponsive.

Attaching local, base, other files.

they are compared in the following order
local:base:other

local - color.css
base  - color.css~base.wCnBdQ
other - color.css~other.uEnYEk

Meld is auto-opened by mercurial to compare differences.
Tried 2 times and every time it hangs on these files.

This sounds like a duplicate of bug 638314, which is fixed in current git. Could you please retest?

yes you are right, i clones the latest revision from git and it appears that the problem is solved.
