GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 640108
Contacts don't show up in the list
Last modified: 2011-04-06 08:34:45 UTC
I only have one account (GTalk), Empathy that comes from Ubuntu 10.10 repositories. It connects to the server, I can initiate conversations by "New conversation" action, and my contacts auto-complete there as I type it's name. The problem is that no contacts are visible in the contacts list (even with offline visible).
Can you attach empathy and telepathy-gabble logs please? You can get them from the help -> debug menu.
Created attachment 180616 [details] Empathy Debug log The issue is still there.
That's mission-control logs. I need the Gabble and Empathy ones.
That's what I found in Empathy > Help > Debug. Where do I get the rest?
you can't pick another component using the combo box?
I tried to cleanup that log from any person information, emails, names, etc. but failed, it's just too much, stretched my regex muscle a bit but failed. Is't there a way to stop logging these? I could create another jabber account but that wouldn't help as I need to use my gmail one (I'd prefer empathy). Also note that I'm already connected to that account from an android device through which my laptop is routed to the 'net.
If that's ok with you can send me those log in private: guillaume.desmottes@collabora.co.uk
That's probably a telepathy-gabble bug so I forwarded it to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34448
Do we want to keep this bug open here in GNOME bugzilla ?
Hi Akhil, I still experience the bug, it made me switch to Pidgin temporarily. There's no activity on freedesktop bug #34448, they are ignoring it. I can see that this is not directly a bug in empathy, I'm not sure what's the policy/guideline in this situation.
Sorry for that, we are are not a huge team and have to deal with our limited ressources. I just re-pinged a developper of telepathy-gabble about this issue. CLosing this bug for now as that's probably gabble's fault.
