It has been deprecated for a while.

GStreamer developers are requesting it to be kept until GStreamer 0.11.0 is out (probably end of 2011)

Correction: 0.11.x is the development branch that will lead to 1.0

0.11.x has already switched to GInitiallyUnowned

Turns out we only have the declaration of this, not the definition any more. I cleaned this up in http://git.gnome.org/browse/pygobject/commit/?id=08c97b0b .
