GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 638721
Evolution: Storing of mail account ...
Last modified: 2011-01-05 10:01:50 UTC
Storing of mail account passwords: ===================== I have, besides others, one free email account, and thus, the provider limits me to one pop3 fetch per 15min period. Everytime I'm unpatient and try to enforce the send/receive process before this time span is over, Evolution fails to proceed for this particular mail account. Then, it displays a popup window and asks for my password for this account. Even if I close Evolution and open it the other day, the password for this freemail account is not stored any longer! Can you please fix this? - This behavior is in Evolution for quite long, and it was one of the reasons I didn't like Evolution some years ago. Now I'm back, and it immediately start to be annoying ;-) My expectation: If user chooses to store the password, it should be stored "forever", and it should not be lost when a certain communication with the server is unsuccessful. (one may discuss whether it makes sense to un-set the password for the case that the server tells: pw wrong or so, but this is a corner case, I guess) Thanks a lot!
