Description Age Bosma (IRC: Forage) 2011-01-03 20:12:36 UTC
Banshee will always try to convert files on sync when the device does not support them. It's a handy feature for some, but I prefer it if Banshee would just ignore those files, only syncing original files that are supported.
This would safe time (encoding and syncing) and prevent lossy-to-lossy file format conversion.

It could be added as a checkbox to the general preferences or as an additional option in the "Encode to" dropdown located in the device properties dialog.

I am going to close this as a duplicate of:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=576722

While it is not directly a duplicate, this should be part of the new transcoding policy stuff dutchie is working on. It would be great if you could add a comment on the "do not sync unsupported, do not transfer to device" option on the other bug as do not think that has been considered.
