While playing a CD in Rhythmbox then selecting Visualisation the playback stops and no more tracks can be played until the application is rebooted.

Yes I can confirm this in Rhythmbox 0.13.2 and gstreamer-0.10.31-1

the steps for reproduce.

insert cd audio and press play the device.
select view > visualitation.
press play again for pause the track and freeze the app.

Could you get a full stack trace of all thread ("thread apply all bt" in gdb) when that happens?

Thanks for the stack trace. I know it's been just three and a half years, but I think this got fixed at some point :)
