Description Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2010-12-29 17:51:38 UTC
When navigating on http://shiro.apache.org/, Orca grinds to a halt.

In my debug.out, I see many instances of:

Object deemed to be useless: [section | ]

Looking at the screen, there is a menu-bar like object with lots of hidden items (which I'm guessing are all in sections). I assume the delay is trying to build up the line that is the menu-bar like object.

I can't see any issues with that page in a nightly build of firefox4. maybe we're still getting a bunch of objects we decide are useless, but the subject of the bug orca being too slow doesn't seem to exist. DO you want to investigate more? Or just close it as worksforme, I haven't looked to see if we're still deaming a bunch of objects to be useless

Unless I am using a wrong version of firefox, the problem still exists for me.
In the about box of firefox the version is something like:
4.0 b12pre 2011-02-04

I don''t think so, the first time I tried I was using noscript, and forgot about it. So if you've disabled java script there isn't a problem, but if java script is enable then moving down line by line is very slow. However tabbing doesn't seem to be slow. I'm not really sure why this is.

Trev can you still reproduce this? I cannot using Orca master and Firefox 17?
