GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 638011
Impossible to print a file
Last modified: 2013-02-17 09:52:06 UTC
Created attachment 177048 [details] The file that is impossible to print Hello, this file (attached) is impossible to print. When I try to print it, I get error "Print Error There was a problem processing document blahblah (job xx)." and nothing gets printed. My printer is HP LaserJet M1132MFP, but I am not sure that is related. Other documents can be printed just fine. I am not sure this is a evince bug but I do not know where else to report it.
I can print the file in a HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color Printer with color and white and black. and too with xerox 3117 driver problem?, any can test in other printer?
Hm, does not work with Epson stylus dx4400 (using the same computer as before) either. I tried the printer with other documents and it prints. I am on Ubuntu 10.10. (I should have said earlier) - maybe you are on a different distro (and so versions of software) and so it works for you?
Created attachment 192418 [details] printout I in fact cannot print this either sucessfully. However my printer Kycera FS 1300 DN prints an error message which I have attached.
The PDF is broken. Acroread and ghostscript also can not print it. The problem is the charstrings inside the Type 1 fonts in the PDF do not conform to the Type 1 font format. The reason evince can display it is FreeType is very tolerant of broken fonts. I've pushed out a fix for cairo to make the subsetting more tolerant of broken Type 1 fonts: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/cairo/commit/?id=abf97c8874430e40439aae254b16a79dc3d81c4d
Works perfectly with Evince 3.6.1 and poppler 0.20.5. Please close it.
Closing the bug as fixed. Please, feel free to re-open it if you still can reproduce the problem with the latest version of Evince and poppler.
