The AM_PATH_GLIB_2_0 doesn't error out if the check fails. The attached patch explictly aborts the build if the check fails, so it doesn't fail later when compiling.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
