GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 637773
Use the CTRL / SHIFT keys to do a wallpaper slideshow
Last modified: 2015-09-13 09:13:08 UTC
This report was originally filled at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/669874 Gnome-appearance-properties obviously can perform beautiful wallpaper slideshows, but it's hard for the user to take advantage of that nice feature, often having to resort to third-party solutions (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/07/crebs-slideshow-generator-gets-new-features-but-requires-a-little-something-in-return%E2%80%A6/). It would be easy and convenient to let the user press the shift or ctrl keys in order to select several background images, which would then be presented in a slideshow. Additionally, an extra button could be used to let him / her save the selection as a slideshow. Please see attached mockup[1] [1]https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/669874/+attachment/1720545/+files/Slideshow.png

We won't be adding tools to create slideshows, or random backgrounds, as there are already applications that do this kind of thing quite well, and their UIs are clearly focused around that. For example, Wallpaper gallery at http://www.olmec.co.nz/
