--debug log

I am seeing a problem on current git where in Banshee when a song ends will not start playing the next song in line. It will occasionally visually change to the next song but no playback ever starts.

This happens with and without gapless.

Retitling the bug after further investigation.

This is what happens it seems: song reaches end, request is issued, times out and then we get stuck querying the model for selecting the next track:

[15 Debug 02:00:15.423] (libbanshee:player) [Gapless] Requesting next track
[15 Debug 02:00:16.440] Starting - Gemmer metadata til fil
[16 Debug 02:00:16.496] Finished - Gemmer metadata til fil
[15 Debug 02:00:17.443] [Gapless] Timed out while waiting for next_track_set to be raised
[1 Debug 02:00:17.817] Querying model for track to play in off:Next mode

A cursory glance at the recent commits (as I don't recall this starting more than a week ago or so) only really revealed one change that looks to be affecting playback. However reverting it did not bring back correct behavior.

Could be a problem outside of Banshee, Totem also experiences problems changing to the next item in its play queue.
Comment 3 David Nielsen 2010-12-20 10:42:23 UTC
It is very likely related to the test patches to combat rewind errors found here.

Closing as NOTGNOME for now, will reopen if I can reproduce the problem using stock Natty pulseaudio and gstreamer.
