GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 637251
Nautilus hangs freeze when copying a directory with various files from a FTP server.
Last modified: 2011-01-14 15:23:52 UTC
Created attachment 176428 [details] Progress bar of Nautilus hangs. 1. In Ubuntu 10.10 and Fedora 14 Desktop Nautilus hangs when I am copying an entire directory from other Linux or Windows FTP server. It copies entire files but in the second or fourth file it hangs. 2. Minor severity: If you give the location ftp://david@server.com you expect to get in to the home directory of "david", instead Nautilus browse the root directory of the server
Thanks very much. I love Gnome desktop.
The frozen Nautilus tasks stay running forever in background.
Ubuntu 10.10 32 bits is running on a dual core AMD 64 bits. Fedora 14 32 bits is runnning on Pentium 4 2.66 GHz.
-> gvfs/ftp This is likely a bug in the interaction between GVfs and your FTP server.
I found the same bug reported in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/574693
Note that I am using two FTP servers (Windows 2003 and Linux Fedora) with the same situation.
Nautilus 2.28.1 with gvfs 1.4.1 in Fedora 12 works ftp directories perfect.
