It is not possible to switch between the default album grid view [1] and the album list view [2] without digging in gconf-editor

The option is in Preferences / Source specific / Music / Disable album grid, no gconf digging is necessary.

The second request mentioned in the LP bug is bug 540873.

Victor: if you were using Ubuntu, that setting cannot be found because apparently they removed the option. So, if this is the case, this should be closed as NOTGNOME instead of NOTABUG.
