GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 63709
URL character encoding for username, password, and host doesn't work
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Typing ftp://ftp.redhat.%63om/pub into "Go To:" text box results in the following error. Couldn't display "ftp://ftp.redhat.%63om/pub", because no host "ftp.redhat.%63om" could be found. Check that the spelling is correct and that your proxy settings are correct. Using "ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pu%62", however, works. I have also tried a username with an "@" in the URL, replacing the @ with "%40". This didn't work either. It seems only the url-path is decoded, but not the the host, username, or password(?). The RFC seems to imply this should work and these URLs do work with lynx.
This is almost certainly a gnome-vfs bug.
Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
Re-assigning to gnome-vfs module.
Mass resetting target milestone to clean up gnome-vfs milestones. Please complain if I removed a milestone which should have been kept. Sorry for the spam
The URL field has been removed from bugzilla.gnome.org. This URL was in the old URL field, and is being added as a comment so that the data is not lost. Please email bugmaster@gnome.org if you have any questions. URL: ftp://ftp.redhat.%63om/pub
