Description JD 2010-12-08 19:15:23 UTC
When wanting to save a message to some location:
File -> Save as
pops up the gnome directory browser to select a location
where the user can save the file or message or a web page.
This gnome browser has the "Save in folder" bar greyed out, which
is a huge hassle.
Often, I know exactly where to save the file or message or the download
and I would like to quickly type it in the "Save in folder" bar
rather than keep clicking the directories as the user is forced to
sometimes browse through 8 directories or more before arriving
at the directory where the message, or file or web page is to be saved.
Often these intermediate directories are very highly populated,
so the user must scroll a lot to get to the right one.
Please re-enable the "Save in folder" bar in the gnome dir browser dialogue.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GTK+ developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GTK+ you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GTK+.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GTK+.

Well, as this is Fedora 13 which is still well maintained I'd rather say: File a bug report in bugzilla.redhat.com instead, as this is downstream stuff. :)

Actually, NO.
Fedora re-names the latest GTk+ As gtk2-2.20.1-1.fc13.i686

and apps such as TB and FF are building with the old
gtk+-1.2.10-70.fc13.i686, when they should be build with
gtk2-2.2.x. So, it is not clear to me if this is the fault
of the Fedora distro, building gui apps with the old gtk+
instead of gtk2.

Question: is the binary from mozilla.com built with gtk+
or with gtk2 ?

Ask mozilla.com please, as you state yourself that it is from mozilla.com?
