Description Marcus Harrison 2010-12-01 15:07:16 UTC
Filters are always case-sensitive, even when this is detrimental: E-mail addresses in particular are not case-sensitive. This means that an E-mail sent to Marcus@Harrisonland.co.uk will be skipped by a filter set to filter messages sent to marcus@harrisonland.co.uk.

Personally, I'd recommed switching off case-sensitivity when filtering fields where it makes sense to (I.E., in the "To:", "From:" and "CC:" fields), or else to give a user-visible option in the filter configuration dialogue.

I'd support this. In fact I think we should just do it and not have another configuration option, as there isn't a reasonable scenario when it could possibly matter (anyone who wants to discriminate based on the case of email addresses is in for a world of pain).
