If it's a dark clip, or if there are a few dark clips in the timeline, it's very hard to see which one of them is selected. I would say it's the same situation even if the clips are more bright. Unfortunately I don't have any concrete suggestions. But if someone is interested I could think about this some more.

This is especially useful considering the feature of adding effects to a clip in the timeline.
