GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 635864
Error creating link
Last modified: 2012-12-05 09:47:39 UTC
When you want to make a link of a file in your desktop you can use ctrl+shift and drag and drop the file in desktop. The propierties of the icon of link have de route to the file. If you try to do the same BUT with a file mounted from SMB folder with gvfs-mount "smb://xxxx" the link is created "broken" and the route to this file is wrong If you do a ln -s with the same smb file remote to the desktop works fine.
Which version is this about, and which exact distribution?
Fedora 13, Nautilus 2.30.1
This behaviour can be seen when using sftp backend. Personally, I believe natuilus should copy files over when dealing with symlink and remote fs. * Copying symlinks to sftp copies the symlink, and not the file itself. * Copying symlinks from sftp is broken. This should make a copy of the file.
