Description Janvitus 2010-11-26 14:12:40 UTC
The file .po of the translation of banshee-community-extensions doesn't update automatically. Example, in the .po file of the italian translation are missing the new strings of the new Ampache, Last.FM fingerprinting and Random By Last.FM (and some more) extensions:

Thank you for bringing up this issue.

As the banshee-community-extensions source is hosted on gitorious, it doesn't take advantage of the GNOME infrastructure for translations. I guess that infrastructure is taking care of updating the .po files for translators.

I'm open to suggestions on how we could improve the translation workflow for b-c-e.

Maybe we should update the existing .po files regularly and commit those updates ?
And what about adding languages ?
Or maybe use an existing service like Transifex (http://www.transifex.net/) or Rosetta (https://launchpad.net/rosetta) ?

I have both Rosetta and Transifex account, i think Transifex is a good choice, and also GNOME Translation Project had thinking to switch from Damned Lies to Transifex :)

I've just setup a project on Transifex for the Community Extensions, as an experiment :

See this message for details :

Thanks for prodding us into trying to improve the situation ! :)
