Description cchhsu.hsu 2010-11-17 09:26:29 UTC
The Logitech Quickcam 4000 cannot preview with Belkin F5U233-APL USB Hub connected. But, Gstreamer properties is able to preview properly without USB Hub connected.

The Gstreamer properties shows error message as below:
" Video for Linux 2 (v4l2): no element "null" "
The problem is also observed on the all resolutions.

I used Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS x64 OS to duplicate this issue.

Why do you belive a not working USB hub is a gstreamer problem?

You can run "lsusb" in a terminal with and without the hub to check if the usb-stack recognises the camera. If the camera is there you can try "v4l-info" (from v4lutils package) to check if the kernel driver recognises your webcam.
