Description eb-0004 2010-10-30 21:53:25 UTC
Currently, I can mouse point and click to follow links within a PDF document.

I would like to write some Emacs code so when I am at symbol FOO in my Emacs session I can navigate an evince session to link FOO that already exists in the PDF document.

(This is similar in concept to Emacs TAGS and typing M-. or to using browse-url.)

I corresponded with Jose Aliste who suggested adding a GotoLink method to the/org/gnome/evince/Window DBUS interface and said I should file a bugzilla ticket here.

(And for anybody reading this, he also says to see the synctex plugin in the gedit-plugins module for how to control evince using DBUS and python.)
