Description texstar 2010-10-24 17:45:41 UTC
When switching out Menu bar for Main Menu applet causes various panel applets to crash randomly at login.

To duplicate, remove Menu bar applet. Add Main Menu applet to panel. Log in a few times or open terminal and run killall gnome-panel 3 or 4 times and watch various panel applets failing to load such as clock, notification area etc...

Willing to test any proposed patches.

As a test I backed packages down to gnome-panel-2.30.2 and gnome-applets-2.30.0 and problem went away.

Maybe connected with:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637126
(as openSUSE uses the Main Menu by default)
