GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 632617
Rescan Music Library re-inserts existing tracks, removes ratings, play counts and playlist membership
Last modified: 2010-10-20 01:10:36 UTC
Created attachment 172781 [details] Refresh library log Whenever I do a Rescan Music Library operation, Banshee ends up re-inserting about 183 of my songs into the music library as "new songs" replacing the existing versions of those songs. By doing this, I lose the ratings, play counts and playlist memberships of the existing songs. Since I like to categorize my music fairly heavily into playlists, I am losing some important information this way. I have created two logs: One log refreshing the library with normal debug options, and another with sql debugging enabled. Obviously, I have compressed the SQLdebug log. I'm not sure what is so special about these tracks, as Banshee always re-detects the same ones. I have attached one of the files that is freely available, in case if also sheds some light on the situation. Let me know if there is anything else you need.
Erm, nevermind, I can't attach large attachments. Instead, I have uploaded to Dropbox. The links are: For the SQL Log of the refresh: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8445226/refresh%20sql%20log.bz2 For a sample MP3: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8445226/Toejam%20%26%20Earl.mp3
