GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 632393
Library Watcher does not import properly
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:48:27 UTC
Created attachment 172564 [details] Banshee log file When new audio is created in the watched folder, banshee reads metadata only from the first track. The rest is imported as filepaths in the 'Name' column. During the process, the Watcher sometimes hangs with the CPU at 100%. This issue is not strictly an 1.80 one, it has existed ever since the watcher was introduced. Additional info: My Music folder is on another drive and symlinked to the music folder under home. This should not affect anything, though. I have attached the log.
Thanks you for your bug report. This is not a blocker, please see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#importance In your Banshee preferences, what items are checked under "File Policies" ? Do all the file get imported correctly if you put them in another folder and import them manually ?
> This is not a blocker, please see > https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#importance Sorry about that one. > In your Banshee preferences, what items are checked under "File Policies" ? Only "Write metadata to files" > Do all the file get imported correctly if you put them in another folder and > import them manually ? I don't have to move files. Manual import works OK. That's how I refresh my library. Either import or scan everything. No problem with these.
Thanks for providing the requested information.
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
