Description zigarn 2010-10-17 19:42:24 UTC
When playing a video file with external subtitles and seeking (with left and right arrow), subtitles aren't displayed during a 5-10 sec delay (and then appears at good time).
(Was reported on launchpad : https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/452387)
Comment 1 Bastien Nocera 2010-10-17 20:12:48 UTC
Totem doesn't deal with displaying the subtitles itself.
Comment 2 Jan Claeys 2011-01-09 17:33:45 UTC
What happens is that it never shows the "current" subtitel but waits until a new subtitle should be displayed (so there is not really a time-based delay).

What it should somehow do after seeking is check if any subtitle has a "start time" before the current position and an "end time" after the current position, and if so, display it.
Comment 3 zigarn 2011-01-09 21:55:50 UTC
It doesn't skip only the "current" subtitle. Sometimes 10-15 subtitles are skipped, but other times only 1 or 2.
I've just try again and 5 subtitles were skipped and the first to appear started after its "start time" but stopped at its "end time" (and so appear for a very short time)
