GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 632241
can't uncompress weekends
Last modified: 2010-12-31 12:04:48 UTC
Ubuntu 10.10, Evolution 2.30.3.un-compress weekends does not work. Edit/Preferences/Calendar and Tasks/Display. Uncheck Compress weekends in month view does not. Is it broken or am I missing something? Thanks, Bob.
I have the same problem since upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 and Evolution 2.30.3. Weekends are always compressed regardless option turned on or off.
Doesn't seem to be anyone working on this problem does there?

bob, this bug was reported on a friday. developers have life too. and this bug doesnt seem like a showstopper.
Sorry,but it is difficult to use when you work on the weekends with appointments and use the month view. Didn't mean any harm there just didn't seem to be anyone responding that it was a known problem. Bob.
I just reported bug 632810, because other calendar preferences are also affected - stay tuned...
Please ignore my last comment - it's misleading. What I'd like to add here: I tested Fedora (daily built Live CD of 20.10.2010) containing Evolution 2.32.0-2.fc14. There "Compress weekends in month view" works as expected!
Does that make it a Ubuntu problem? I wouldn't think they could break it though. I do wish there was a solution for this as another working weekend is approaching and I have appointments I can't see in my month view. Thanks, Bob.
This bug is about 2.30.x, so I tested Fedora 13 with evolution 2.30.3-1.fc13. There it works as expected. If no other distro is affected it is a downstream issue and can be tracked on https://launchpad.net/bugs/643910
It's definitely a regression - worked in Evo 2.28.3 on Ubuntu, not working in 2.30.3 on Ubuntu - but if this works fine on Fedora & other distros when they're also running 2.30.3, then that does suggest a downstream issue.
Right. As I wrote downstream on Launchpad: with Fedora 13 and 14 both evolution 2.30.3-1.fc13 and 2.32.0-2.fc14 work as expected. Yet I did not see any results with other distros. According to the comments on Launchpad it's likely to be an Ubuntu problem. So IMHO this report could become NOTGNOME. If you use Ubuntu and have some news, please add it to https://launchpad.net/bugs/643910 If you use another distro, please leave your comment here (and eventually reopen this bug)
--> Ubuntu, closing as NOTGNOME.
