I installed the new RedHat-Linux 7.2 and at the first startup of the newly installed Linux I wanted to start X-Windows

I Started the X-Windows by entering startx as root.

At the start of X-Windows the following erros message is displayed (first in german and the my translation):

German: Die Anwendung "panel" (Prozess 1105) ist wegen eines fatalen Fehlers abgestürzt (Speicherzugriffsfehler)

Translation: The application "panel" (process 1105) crashed caused by a fatal error (Access violation)

After this message I can see the following objects on my desktop:
Icon: Home of root
Icon: Start here
Icon: Trash
Empty panel

Please help me to solve this problem.

Please try the latest (1.4.x) version of gnome-core and gnome-libs
from http://download.gnome.org/ Contact me if you need RPMS.
