Description Delan Azabani 2010-10-10 09:37:43 UTC
If a file called "dropped text.txt" exists in a folder when you drag text into a Nautilus window, the new dropped text gets called "dropped text (copy).txt". This isn't very intuitive or correct because it isn't a copy of the previous dropped text, merely another dropped text. It should probably be called "dropped text (2).txt" and so on instead.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

I tested nautilus 3.6. The resulting is:

Dropped text.txt > This is the file that already existed in the folder
Dropped text 2.txt > This is the file that was created when dropping text

This seems to have been fixed, so I'll mark this report as obsolete.

Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
