Description Frank H. Ellenberger 2010-09-26 16:24:08 UTC
Special in smaller companies it happens often, that an owner pays an invoice from his private money. For this porpose there are private accounts in equity - at least in german account templates.

Yes, I know, there is a workaround by:
 posting to cash and then
 edit the transaction and
 replace cash by equity:private,
but it is annoying to do this again and again.

Somebody might say "Uh, then we are exposing the whole tree", but I think the better solution would be to introduce a slot "is_payment_account" or similar for accounts, which is set by default for cash, bank:checking and creditcard.

I have added equity accounts as valid payment accounts in
https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/commit/e693a68972c393c59d943d6c7b9775c4b85700c7

The only accounts that can't be selected for payment are now income and expense accounts.

This fix will appear in the upcoming 2.6.4 release.
