GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 629828
Freeze of X
Last modified: 2015-01-24 09:14:06 UTC
I started rhythmbox-0.12.8-4.fc13.i686 in gdb (as it loves crashing here), went to "Radio", and clicked on a radio station. It froze my entire X system. Ctrl+Alt+Backspace did not work. Other apps running: gedit, firefox, xchat, evolution, pidgin, gnome-terminal. Had to go to the shell and kill the gdb process. I know this is not a very helpful report, but it's the second time it happens and more instructions are welcome. I don't have much of an idea what might be causing that, sorry. Is there anything in your xorg log file? (does ctrl-alt-backspace normally work?) What plugins do you have enabled? Do you have accessibility enabled? I've been having some weird a11y-related problems on f13 recently.. Does this only seem to happen when playing radio streams, or have you seen it with local files too?
Hmm. Might not be rhythmbox (however after killing its gdb the system works well again) but X of course. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=616640. Feel free to close as INVALID or so. :-/ Also I have to mention that while screen was totally frozen (also clock etc) I could still move the mouse. No a11y enabled. My crashes only happen with radio streams (or when switching to radio streams after listening to local files). My only enabled plugins are: Status / notification area symbol Send track (via Email or IM) Support for MTP devices
