Description Victor Vargas 2010-09-13 21:59:03 UTC
This requirement was originally filled at:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/490354

The monitor shows network activity over time (last x seconds)

It should also show the list of processes that had network traffic (in the last x seconds).

Possibly clicking on a traffic peak in the network graph could identify the corresponding process.

(information should be available from netstat / procfs / hethog)
Comment 1 Robert Roth 2013-08-03 12:26:59 UTC
Identifying network processes associated with network traffic would also be possible if each process would have a download/upload usage column in the processes table, as requested in bug #506930.

I would disagree with making the traffic peak clickable, as a traffic peak could be caused by multiple processes accessing the network at the same time, so it's not directly associable to one process.
Based on the above, I am marking this as a duplicate of bug #506390.
