Description AndiDog 2010-09-13 20:18:22 UTC
There's already a command-line option "-s" to start with the system tab. The system monitor should have another option that allows it to start on the processes tab, with the keyboard focus on the process list.

Moreover, options to define the process sorting (e.g. "--sort=cpu,asc" or so) would be cool.

That way, one could define a GNOME keyboard shortcut to start the system monitor like the task manager on Windows :)

Proposed patch

The proposed patch adds a command line flag for each tab, to be able to start system monitor with any of the tabs. -p for Processes, -r for Resources, -f for file systems are the new arguments. If there is more than one argument specified, the tab for the first argument is loaded.

Looks good. Thanks.

I do agree that adding a command line option to sort would be nice. Leaving this bug open so as not to forget about this.
