Description John Richard Moser 2010-09-12 02:14:23 UTC
As per http://home.gna.org/quarry/

"Sorry, this project is discontinued. If you want to take over and become new maintainer and developer, post to the mailing list."

Quarry has a very pleasant user interface and supplies an easy way to play Go against GnuGo. It does not allow play against IGS/Pandanet; cgoban allows that, and the UI is horrible.

I suggest an interested maintainer move the Quarry code base into GNOME. If this is done, I will raise three further bugs:

1) Add IGS (Pandanet) support to Quarry
2) Add Shogi/IGS support to Quarry
3) Add Chinese Chess/IGS support to Quarry

No client I can find supports Shogi or Chinese Chess on IGS. It may, however, make better sense to integrate Shogi/CC with IGS support into glChess, since they're chess variants. If so, I'll file bugs against glChess for (2) and (3) instead.

GNOME Games has split into separate modules for each game. So it no longer is a game collection. If you want to maintain this project in GNOME please follow the standard procedure for adding a new module.
