GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 629076
Review default applications
Last modified: 2011-02-28 10:48:11 UTC
Inspired by comment 4 from Matthias in bug 623723, we should reconsider uri-handler defaults, both org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.gschema.xml and org.gnome.desktop.url-handlers.gschema.xml. Speaking of which, we should probably add convert files for this module to migrate settings just like other apps do (nautilus, gedit, ...). Opening this bug just to not forget.
There's already a convert file here. And URI handlers defaults moved to being distro choices (as they are the ones shipping the defaults.list). All the default apps look correct to me, and I removed the browser setting. commit ce0379c583ddf21dfe884251805c27e01704d2b9 Author: Bastien Nocera <hadess@hadess.net> Date: Tue Feb 8 19:15:23 2011 +0000 Remove web browser default preference As this was migrated to using x-scheme-handler instead. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=629076

See the "URI scheme handlers" section of this: http://www.hadess.net/2010/10/new-control-center-and-you.html > i still got in ~/.xsession-errors this: > > GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema > 'org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.browser' is not installed > > i'm not sure who trows this but my guess is gnome-settings-daemon gnome-settings-daemon doesn't use that key.
