GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 628846
[windows] internet links don't work
Last modified: 2010-09-10 18:57:32 UTC
Clicking on an internet link in a mail message results in the error message "Cannot open link" with the explanation "No application is registered as handling this file". Re-installation does not solve the problem. settings for default programs appear correct. links elsewhere work correctly.
This is a misconfiguration on your local system. Check that you've set your preferred web browser under System -> Preferences -> Preferred Applications and that the GVFS daemon (gvfsd) is running.

The preferences are set properly, for example the internet links in Thunderbird work just fine.
